How did I lose financial aid ???

I was put on academic probation. Received a message I am suspended. Which is ridiculous. I passed all my classes and have a 2.8 GPA for this term. I’m about to cry.

Pretty sure once you get put on academic probation you lose your financial aid. Or once your GPA drops to a certain level. Why would they keep giving you free money (assuming you got a pell grant)  to attend classes if you can't keep your grades up. Contact the school, and financial aid office.

I believe you have to have a B average to maintain the standing you need for financial aid. That's how it was when I was in college.

When I was in beauty school I nearly lost my financial aid due to attendance. You can only miss so many days and once you pass that threshold they can take away your financial aid regardless of GPA if they wanted to. 
And as others have said, I think you have to maintain a certain GPA. If your drop below that then it can be taken away as well.

Well if people from the financial aid office found out that you were on academic probation they feel as though you are not serious about your education and they don’t want to fund that. But this is all theory.

A lot of financial aid has requirements for gpa. One time I fell below, I paid out of pocket for a class and raised it and got my financial aid back

It could have been from your attendance. You have to have a 2.0 or better (c average for anyone saying otherwise) so that can’t be why it happened. I know if you don’t attend at least 60% of classes they will suspend you. I was put on financial aid probation last year and was still able to get it even with a 2.5 gpa. So it had to be due to your attendance. Talk to your financial aid office. They should be able to tell you exactly why. Best of luck! Apply for scholarships if the problem can’t be resolved.
