Never been on a date?

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 2 years now and I just realized we’ve never gone a date or at least say it’s a date lol 
Do you guys make plans and call it a date or is it whenever you guys go out it’s a date.

We usually refer to anything we do out together as a date! we live together, so I wouldn't count us hanging out at home a date, but whenever were out of the apartment Its a date whether we plan it ahead of time or not! We do one really fancy planned date a year for our anniversary/birthdays (all within one week) but that's it!

I consider it a date whenever  we make plans and are together... he thought that was strange and said he always thought we were just hanging out. He said dates were supposed to be more special than what we do most of the time. (if he described it, we would've only had a few dates, but we've hung out a lot) It just depends on how you think of it. To me, dating is dating.  When I am with my bf, it's a date!

Me and my boyfriend are in HS and all we do is go to one of our houses, order pizza, and watch a show or something like that.
