What did Jesus of Nazareth look like?

Regardless of your faith, we all know that Jesus of Nazareth was a real man who performed various good deeds in his life and taught lessons of love and forgiveness.

Almost every culture and sub culture who believes Jesus was the son of God depicts Jesus in various fashions. Some with pale skin and blue eyes. Some with dark skin and a large beard.

How did you grow up believing Jesus looked like? And how do you think the real Jesus actually looked?

I grew up being shown images of a pale skinned, light haired and light eyed Jesus. This was in the catholic and presbyterian church. I now believe however, knowing Jesus came from Israel, that he most likely had dark skin, hair and eyes.
