What type of birth do you ladies want?

I’m planning on having an all natural birth, and almost everyone I talk to says I’m crazy , anyone with me or have supporting story’s for me ?!?!?

I've had an all natural birth ( just gas and air, does that count?) It really wasnt that bad at all for me. I was silent throughout (I'm usually a chatterbox) and just concentrated on each contraction. It isn't a constant pain.Say the contraction due is 40 seconds. That's 20 seconds of it getting worse and then 20 seconds of it getting better. I just told myself its just 20 seconds of pain, you've got this and count, it would get to like 17 and Id think ouch but just 3 seconds come on and then it would start dying off. It still hurt for the further 20 seconds but because it was going each second felt better. Bare in mind until you are really far along there are big gaps in between so like 20 mins and even towards the end its like 5 mins gap with just a 1 min contraction. I just said to myself I've had pain for more than a minute come on it will be over so soon. zyeh and just took each contraction as it came. The pushing stage just felt normal, like my body wanted to so I wanted to. Again head game, push for the contraction then rest for a minute. My pushing stage was about 20 mins so at max there was just 10 contractions. It was also nice to know it was almost over. I really think its mind over mattee

I'm hoping for natural but won't be too upset if i have to get the epidural!! since its my first baby, I don't know what to expect and if I'll actually be able to handle the pain!

As long as you make up your mind before hand that you can do this than providing nothing crazy happens (because sometimes things just don't go as planned)  you will be surprised at how much you can do and handle. Just go into it determined and positive.

Planning on an all natural birth I will be having my baby in a birth center so no drugs will be available. The women in my family all had natural and epidural births and they all agreed that the natural birth was far easier than having an epidural

I was unable to have an epidural my first pregnancy, so this 2nd one, all natural again!

I had a completely 100% natural, no painkiller birth. I was in hard labour for 18 hours, labour for 2 days; they had to break my water and right after they did I started pushing and within half an hour he was out. It hurts like a son of a bitch, but you seriously do forget the pain right away and it’s totally worth it. I also did that at 18 years old lol I’m pregnant with my 3rd now (2nd live) at 21. We had an ectopic pregnancy in January which ultimately caused a tubal rupture and I had to have my tube removed. The doctor told me it’s the same process and recovery as a c-section. I would never voluntarily put myself through that pain to ‘save’ my vagina lol (for the record, I don’t find that my first born ‘wrecked’ anything or even stretched down there. Lol) and at 19 I had to have a spinal tap done, which they said is how it feels to get an epidural; again something I would never voluntarily do lol I 100% am set on doing a completely natural birth with my daughter in April. A tip though, 18 hours of hard labour- I spent 10 of that 18 hours in a HOT shower lol and the water kept the pain to a bearable minimum, until it was really go time lol I highly recommend it unless it’s medically necessary for the other 2 options.

I had my son naturally medication free in hospital.  I could talk forever about this but I will try to keep it short. The book hypnobirthing the Mongan method was super helpful during pregnancy because it has some great coping techniques.  Moving around during labor is essential.  Small nutrient dense snacks for the earlier stages are a must.  The shower/water feels amazing.  Tennis balls are great for applying counter pressure.  I tried to be so quiet the whole time but when I started letting myself make noise during contractions when things got intense and found the contractions easier to cope with.   The position that helped me most to move baby down was on my hands and knees leaning over an exercise ball.  My son was born after 17 hours of labor and 3 pushes.  The key is preparation, determination, and remember to read up on it.  If you want to have a natural birth, go for it.  My natural birth is something I look back on and feel proud of.  I loved the experience.

I’m going to shoot for all natural. Unless they have to use pitocin, then I’m getting an epidural. I really really don’t want pitocin though!

I had an all natural birth because I ran out of time to get epidural lol. So I know I could do it if I needed to but I am not going to limit myself to one type of birth plan.
