I’m almost 16 years old. My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 months. As a sexual abuse survivor sex is a lot for me to think about. I’m sure I’m ready for it physically but mentally I’m not so sure. Anyway you can help a girl out?

If you're not in the right place mentally with it all then I'd definitely wait until you feel more comfortable. Take the time you need to, if your partner gives a shit about you they'll wait until you're ready too. The first time can be pretty awful anyway, so if you're not in the right place mentally it could really put you off. Just go with how you feel, not what anyone else feels

Take things slow, as a survivor you will be sensitive to triggers. Wait until your sure, and then wait a bit more. Explain to your partner what you need from them to feel save and comfortable, and make sure they know what is off the table completely if there is something you aren't comfortable with.
