stop taking birth control?

i’ve been on birth control for over 2 years now.. I’m 17. I had to go on it because my period were so bad and i would wake up with painful cramps and throw up and pass out and be on bed rest for the whole day i had no energy. But i haven’t had a problem with that since i started BC.. but now i feel so emotional and depressed some days and i have no sex drive. Am i safe to go off it? Or would my symptoms still be there after 2+ years?
