Ok, you are 8 years appart. 8 years is not a big deal. The deal is that he is 24 (an adult) and that you are 16 (a minor) so is it a big deal, yes it is. Maybe I am confusing, but you can date him, but you cannot have sex with him, and you can't do anything sexual with him. And that includes caressing , touching (butt, breast for example) etc... And if someone think that you both do something sexual, he is in big trouble. I am not going to tell you what I think about it, i'm just giving facts. Hope it helped.
