Bf doesn't want to get tested

I started having sex (this was my first time and I am 23) with my boyfriend who is 25. I dont know how many partners he has had; but he's been active since he was 14. We haven't been using a condom and I am on birth control. Initially, having sex was contingent on him getting tested but it happened anyways and he hasn't gotten tested still.

Recently when I brought it up again, he said he thought it was fair that we both get tested. I think this is him copping out and getting scared (because he has never gotten tested before). I got kind of irritated because I don't think he should be requiring me to get tested...he has knowingly had sex with me as a virgin and he doesn't even know about himself. Am I holding a double standard or being irrational?
