What Relationship Advice to your younger self?

What relationship advice would you give your younger self? 
I wish for all the women struggling in relationships to know that you deserve what you want from that relationship. Don’t stay where you feel like your voice doesn’t matter or you’re not respected. The right person wouldn’t act in a way for you to have reason to question them. There are so many stories on here that break my heart, I just wish everyone the confidence and strength to find that partner that helps you be your best self!

There’s a lot that I would tell my younger self. First thing being- you gotta learn to love yourself. When you love yourself, you know that it’s your RIGHT to set boundaries in a relationship. It’s your RIGHT to get upset over something that bothers you. And it’s your RIGHT to be uncomfortable in certain situations. You are worthy. You are capable. You are enough. 
I would also tell myself that you can’t try to change a person that doesn’t feel like they need to change. There’s a quote that I can’t remember word-for-word or who it’s by, but it says something along the lines of “Think about how hard it is to change yourself. Now how can you expect to change somebody else?”
The last thing I would tell myself is that the whole world doesn’t revolve just around pleasing your partner. How you feel, what you think- all of that matters too. Don’t lose yourself trying to make another person happy.

I would tell my younger self to speak up when something was not ok with me bc it always just got worse. Like what you allow is what will keep happening. I would have saved myself so much heartache if I’d been solid in who I was and what I would tolerate from a man.

Trust your instincts. 
Be kind, compassionate, and forgiving. 
Realize people love differently.
Realize people communicate differently. 
Don’t fall into the belief that there is an ideal to chase that you “deserve.” It’s a futile and unhappy pursuit. 
Let people be human.
Let yourself be human. 
Go into love to show love, not to receive it. 
Put your partner first, but recognize and don’t hesitate to walk away from toxicity.

Most importantly, always make yourself the priority. Love yourself more than you love a guy. Don’t take anyone’s shit! Your feelings and opinions and YOU matter. Love is kind, patient, understanding.... if it’s cruel or disrespectful, you’re not being loved. Walk away from anything that doesn’t feel like you’re being loved, even if you still love them. Don’t spend a lot of time trying to change people or save people. You can’t! They won’t! It’s a waste of time and energy and you only get so much time to be here, so don’t waste it on people who don’t deserve it.

My ex was paranoid, thinking I would cheat and what not (I wasn't cheating). He would want me to send him pictures as proof of where I was. I compiled, and enabled his crazy for a long time.

I would say, don't rush into marriage because all of your friends are getting married. Take your time and be sure you know what you're getting into. Go to couples counseling before you commit and don't be so blinded by love that you can't see where the issues in your relationship are. Trust me, even perfect marriage have issues; knowing what they are allows you to work on them early, before they become deal breakers.
