No sex?

I’m at 8 weeks & 5 days and my doctor said my SO & I can’t have sex until after the first trimester...anybody else told this?

This isn't standard, but if your doctor told you this there must be a high-risk situation specific for you. I hope all goes well!

I'm pregnant with my 4th and never had this recommended to me. From what I understand if you don't have a history of miscarriage, infertility,  cervix issues etc it's fine to have sex.

I’ve been spotting for almost 2 weeks now. My doctor told me no sex until I’ve had 2 weeks straight with no spotting just to be safe. I’m 7w3d.

I found out at 4 Weeks my doctor made it clear sex is safe even wrote on a prescription pad for my husband as a request for me lol

I plain didn’t want sex for the first trimester and then when I started to want it again but hadn’t done that wonderful deed yet I just so happened to end up having to go to the ER due to bleeding at 14 weeks and was told I had placenta previa and was then told I wasn’t allowed to have sex until after baby is born or it clears up, whichever came first. A month later I had a follow up ultrasound and they told me it had corrected itself and my husband and I had the go ahead, but then my desire was gone again. I’m now 27 weeks and we literally just had sex for the first time in just over 5 months. 😳 most of the time I was thinking please don’t squish the baby in the belly 😂😂  so I’m not sure why your dr told you no but it’s better to be safe than sorry in the beginning. ive never heard of that. and ive had a miscarriage in july too, but this time they said to do everything like i normally would except for heavy lifting .

This is what my doctor told me. No sex, so spicy food, no heavy lifting, no jumping. And yes, I had a miscarriage last year, I guess that explain everything :)

If you had any issues before with conceiving or holding a baby, I can see why, but I've never heard of that or been told that. I found I wanted to have sex a lot more during my first trimester. Died down in the second trimester and is now coming back...but I'm 35 weeks and not allowed to have sex now because it'll induce my labor.
