$$ husband is selfish- help!!
My husband and I got ourselves in a financial situation where we need to pay off a significant amount of credit card debt. I have been putting every penny I have towards the debt to try to save us thousands of dollars in interest and he hasn't even tried to cut back on frivolous spending.
I tried to bring it to his attention and ask him why he needed $300 for weekly expenses like gas and cigarettes, pop and candy, eating out. he can't give me a good reason. He fights with me and acts like I'm only about money. When really it's him who is all about keeping his money and not helping even though we built this debt together.
I know once this is over and everything is paid off he's going to think that he gets to do whatever he wants. I'm really frustrated because I am seriously trying to set us up for a good future and I don't know if I should keep trying because I feel like if he is this financially irresponsible now what's the future going to be like?
We are separated right now and finances have been a big reason why. I think it's just because he doesn't know how to manage money. Is this something that anybody's been successful working through? If so how did you work through it together? Thanks for your help!
