My dad incredibly overprotective of me and I’m becoming more and more uncomfortable in my own home.

• he watches/criticizes everything I do

• when my mom and I go out we tell him where we’re going and if we’ve been out for two hours he starts texting “where are you? Are you coming soon??”

• he always makes it such a big deal when either my mom or I go wanna go out with friends, and when she/I come home he always shows some sort of anger or negativity towards us

• sometimes when I’m out he’ll ask where I am and then he’ll literally drive out to the location I said to see if I’m there (mind you I’m a good kid, I’ve never done anything wrong to give him a reason to be like this)

• I’ve also noticed he’s been doing some sneaky things to see what I’m up to. Ex. He moved up my passenger seat very forward so he can use that as a sort of “signal/sign” as to if someone has been in the car with me (because they’d have to move the seat back to a normal position in order to sit)

• he gets mad and starts yelling over things normal people shouldn’t. Just recently we were all out together and my mom asked if we can go to the mall and he literally started yelling at her about why would she wanna go to the mall it’s so busy at this time. And when I told him there’s no need to yell, he yells back at me “I WILL!”

It’s really hard for me to leave the house. I get so much anxiety leaving the house or coming home bc I’m in constant fear of being in trouble. I’m tired of feeling like everything I do is under suspicion and I can get in trouble for (and these are things you shouldn’t be in trouble for! Like simply being on my phone for a while bc I’m reading an article, or going to the movies with friends). I find that even the way I think has been fucked up. I overthink innocent tasks and start thinking of reasonings or excuses or cover ups to say in case I get in trouble. It’s come to the point that I’m staying in my room for almost the whole day to avoid my dad bc I’m scared of him at this point. When I wake up or come home and see his car not in the driveway, it’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, like I feel so much relief. Anyways do you guys think hes being emotionally abusive?
