Recovering from Bulimia

Aimee

I’m finally at a stage where I love myself and where I’m happy with my life.

I suffered with Bulimia for over 5 years and with the help of professionals and family today I finally looked at myself in the mirror; finding nothing to be disgusted about. This is the first photo I’ve took of my body since I developed the disorder and now I’ve never been more comfortable within my own skin. I no longer see a fat ugly girl, who shouldn’t be loved and doesn’t deserve to eat. Nor do I see a girl who looks like she could be dead with nothing but her skeleton keeping her up. I see a happy healthy girl, with actual curves! (Who would’ve thought!)

Thanks to the help, love a support I’ve been able to complete my studies, 7 GCSE’s and 3 Alevels. Get a job and develop a healthy, loving relationship with my first boyfriend.

I may only be 19 but, I just want to let all you girls know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I promise you, things will get better. My advice for you if you’re struggling in anyway is to seek help. Whether it be from friends, family or professionals.
