Why??

I noticed a lot of people are getting ultrasounds at 8 weeks I'm 8 weeks 4 days and my obgyn didn't give me an appointment until 10 weeks 3 days!! So not fair!

I had my first at 6 weeks because they thought I may be having an ectopic pregnancy but I was ok. Told me to come back at 8 weeks because they saw 2 sacs and now I'm having twins.

I got mine at 7 weeks because one we didn't know how far along I was and two I kept having slight pain on my left side. They wanted to make sure it wasn't cyst or that baby wasn't in my left tube. All went well and I was actually measuring less then what I thought I was.

I got an ultrasound because I had some bleeding otherwise wouldn't have got one until the 12 week genetic scan

My doctor gave me one at 7w0d and called it our dating scan. I have another at 12 and a final one at 20. We will be paying for a private scan at 16 weeks to find out the gender

I'm having mine at 7weeks because it's an IVF pregnancy. They need to confirm it's viable so they can call it a "clinical pregnancy". Other reasons for an early scan include dating the pregnancy if you're unsure of your timeframe, or checking to see if there are problems (eg if you're bleeding, cramping or have history of miscarriage, etc). If your doc isn't concerned that's prob a good thing! But it's your pregnancy. Push for an earlier scan if you want.

Usually early ultrasounds are done if there is a cause for concern. I had one at 5w5d and 7 weeks because they thought I was having an ectopic pregnancy due to severe cramping and spotting.

Yea I'm naturally impatient lol, it's something I wish I wasn't!! I just want to know baby is okay!! But in sure you all know how that feels

Offices are different. My doc said to come in to confirm at 6weeks. Then did another one, Neural Tube scan, at 12 weeks. Now I'm waiting until 21 weeks for my next anatomy scan. The wait sucks!!!😩😩😩😩😩! But I'm hopeful that everything is ok with my little one. Good luck with the waiting. It, sadly, doesn't get better.
