When to pump?

Is there a time frame when you’re “supposed” to pump? I’ve seen other mom’s mention they’re pumping with a 1 week old and people are questioning them.

I have a 10 day old and I breastfeed her exclusively, but I was wanting to start pumping so I can store the milk. That way when I go back to work (in 6 weeks) there’s a stash for her & also so I can leave the house to run errands etc. and also so my husband can feed her while I’m gone. Right now I feel like I can’t go far from my baby because I’m the only one who can feed her. I did get some slow flow nipples which my nurses and lactation consultant said would be good for switching back and forth between breast and bottle.

Also any tips on how often to pump once I start would be great!
