Having a bad day/hard time adjusting ≠ PPD

I’ve seen WAY too many posts from moms who seem like they’re just having a bad day or struggling with something specific only to be dismissed by commenters telling them to get tested for PPD and offering no other advice or encouragement. Just because someone is having a difficult week or day or month or has a particularly challenging baby or is having trouble in one or two areas does NOT mean they need to take antidepressants or be diagnosed with a disorder. Sometimes being a parent is just really physically and emotionally exhausting and people need to vent or ask for advice. And please don’t tell people to just suck it up. That’s not helpful and just discourages people more. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Rant over.
