Do you have a man that shuts down instead of talking?

What do you do? How long is too long for him to go without talking to you? At what point do you find it disrespectful?

I do this🙋 I have a really bad temper and so, rather than saying something I don't mean, I would just rather not talk. Also, with my anger issues, it's hard for me to gather my thoughts when all I can see is red. So I need time to cuss him out in my head, cry a little, and think about what I'm going to say. So my advice is do not push him to talk before he is ready. Or you both will regret it. My fiancé understands how I am and usually gives me time. 
Everyone says "don't go to bed mad" but, honestly, for me it's *sometimes* helpful. We'll go to bed on opposite sides of the bed, I'll stay up and stare at the wall and think a while, fall asleep at some point, and then wake up cuddled into him and either forget why I was mad or realize it was just something petty. 
You can also go to him and say "I know you're upset and I would like to talk about it but I want to wait until you're ready to talk so just let me know". It shows you're being a grown up about it, makes him want to act like a grown up, and also shows him that you understand that he can't talk right now and that you respect that.

My Husband does this im glad u posted this topic i thought i was the only one ... but he jus needs his space sometimes it may take only 20mins sometimes an hour never more than a day! -we never go to sleep mad or witout saying goodnight sweetdrems ahaha..(:

We both shut down. Him more so than I do. We've come to an agreement that if one of us is upset, we tell the other "let's talk tonight when the kids are in bed."  It gives us both time to settle down and think about stuff we want to say. My husband can get really defensive, and doing this gives him time to think about me and my side. It has worked so far.

Instead of asking us,  ask him what he needs. I tend to give hours of space when often he needs days. He is really bad at informing me about that,  but we still communicate and he is starting to be more vocal about needing to be left alone.
