Holidays with "bae" ?

I've been dating this guy for about 5 months. Christmas is right around the corner. Not to mention I never spent the holidays with someone. It's an argument we've been having lately about how we are going to spend it. My thing is that I won't be able to make it to his bc I'm working until 6pm Christmas eve. And I have to yet still get ready, & drive about an hour to get to my family party. He's pretty mad & upset I most likely won't make it to his family party. We are both celebrating Xmas eve the same day. So it's nothing I can really compromise. His excuse is he doesn't want to miss out on the fun & games going on & his family party so he can't come to mine. Am I in the wrong?

I think you’re both right to want to spend Christmas with your own families. My suggestion is both of you go to your own family event on Christmas Eve and then spend Christmas Day with one family and spend the 26th with the other family. Or try Christmas morning with one family and Christmas night with the other 
My bf has a large family, I have a smaller family, we’ve learnt to compromise on all the family events. Eg, Christmas Eve with his Mum’s side, Christmas morning with my parents, Christmas Day lunch with his dad’s side. We live an hour apart, it’s a lot of driving back and forth but we do our best make it work for everyone

I don't think either is in the wrong. You both have your own parties going on and families to be with. Its unfair for one to miss out.
