I have an 8 week old. She's my first. She nurses for an hour most times and so I doubt if I'm making enough... I have flat small nipples hence I always use nipple shields. She has been gaining weight and pees 16-20 times in 24hours but I'm never engorged nor can I press my boobs n have milk dripping out like many ppl say they can. So I'm always wondering if my milk supply is adequate or not....? Also does use of nipple shields interfere with my body understanding what kind of milk to make for my baby? ( I saw someone else here say that baby's saliva touches the nipple n that's how the body knows what antibodies or what kind of milk to make for the baby....is that so?) pls help
