Baby going to nail salon with momma?

FTM mother here.
Me and my sister are planning on going to get our nails done tomorrow at her friends business. I️ was planning on going at a time that my mom could watch her because I️ don’t really want to take her there if there’s fumes. My sister swears up and down that you can’t smell the fumes and it’s fine taking the baby. But do I️ really want to do that. She isn’t a mom so I️ feel like she doesn’t understand why I’m worrying. Do you think I’ll be fine taking her or don’t trust it.

I would wait until your mother can watch her. At only 6 weeks, your baby is too young to be introduced to those harsh fumes. I frequent nail salons and I can hardly stand the smell- and babies are so much more sensitive. Not only that but if she starts fussing while getting your nails done- that could end up ruining your nail job. I'd also like to kindly suggest that many women go and get their nails to relax and unwind, keep in mind that if your baby starts fussing (although no fault to the baby, I'm sure she doesn't want to be there) it could become a rude move to the other people in the nail salon. A nail date sounds fun, and you definitely deserve it, just postpone until your mother can watch her. It will be more relaxing for you too, you will need some "you" time.

No way!!!! I won’t even light a scented candle or wear perfume around my baby. Their noses are very sensitive!! My husband and I took baby classes before ours was born...and one speaker who was a pediatrician discussed how harsh some smells can be to their little noses. Please don’t take baby to the nail salon!!!
