My heart is full!!!
Finally, it is my turn. Had my membranes swept Monday morning at 40+3. Started contracting inconsistently 9am Tuesday. By 3pm Tuesday they were 10-11 minutes apart. By 6pm we were 6-7 between contractions. Called l&d; due to high blood pressure. Went in to the hospital at 8pm to be monitored. They gave me some sleeping medicine and since we were in early labor advised I try and sleep. My blood levels were elevated so they didn’t send me home. 6am Wednesday they started pitocin and broke my water to get things moving. I threw my birth plan out the window and at 8am opted for the epidural before things got too crazy. It only 1/2 worked because my baby had his head wedged in my pelvic bone and created a block on my left side. Finally at 10 cm at 3pm. Pushed for a 2.5 hours. It was long and incredibly hard. If it wasn’t for my mom and husband I don’t know if I would have made it through. My epidural fell out 1 .5 hours before delivery. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. But so rewarding. As I lay here, our first night home I am amazed and so in love. Don’t get too upset ladies if things don’t go as planned. In the end you get what you set out to do, Have that baby!!
