What is this pain?

So I’ve been having horrible pains in my lower back and around that area in the front. I’m a little concerned because it’s right near my kidneys are. My father and his parents get kidney stones a lot and they’re a genetic disease. I don’t know if I should go see a doctor or if I should wait a bit. I don’t want it to just be a false alarm but I also don’t want it to be a kidney stone or something worse and wait it out.
