Normal ultrasound for 5/6 weeks?

Question

I had a vaginal ultrasound this morning. She saw the gestational sac but nothing else, no yolk sac or baby. From my dates I thought I was about 5 weeks 6 days but she said more like 5 weeks. I had a scan 12 days ago and there was no visible gestational sac, is it a good sign that it’s there now? First time mum and ttc for a long time so very anxious! Thanks in advance.

I had the same thing...I thought I was 5w6d and my gestational sac measured at 5w4d...but empty either way. I have to wait til the 11th for the next one... they told me it was normal too! *fingers crossed* for both of us!

I had an ultrasound today. I guessed that I was about 5 wks even though LMP would put me at 7wks.   Not so fun seeing an empty sac but I think its normal this early. :)

This is mine from 5w2d. You can sort of see the start of something to the left inside the sack, but barely. I was worried bc nothing was really visible, but my doctor wasn’t concerned at all. She said she knew there was a chance nothing may be visible yet because it was so early. I have an 8 week scan schedule when I return from visiting family. I think it’s rare to see something besides a sack before 6 weeks. I’d say don’t worry, but I understand it’s hard not too. I’m sure everything will be okay though :).

Yeah, there’s not much to see that early. It wasn’t until 7 weeks we saw fetal poles and heartbeats. At 6 weeks there was just the yolk sac in there.

My first ultrasound was not until 6w4d we could see his heartbeat 130 to be exact but at 5w I don’t think you can see anything
