Confused and lost

So my bf is a great guy. Super sweet and always wants to make me smile. Well today I found out he was texting my best friend and asking her to be fwb as a secret. She told me about it. I cried. I asked him about it and he said he blacked out doesn't remember doing it. He feels awful. He still wants to be together. I love this man with all my heart. He was going to be there when my daughter was born since her father decided he has better things to do. Im just so upset right now. I want this man in my life and my daughters but everyone is saying I'm dumb if I take him back and that my best friend isn't going to want to be a part of my life if he is. Note that my best friend is the godmother of my daughter. I also like how all of this has to happen in the day before christmas eve..
