Anyone have a “surprise” birth story to share?

I’m 38 weeks. Not dilated, no bloody show or cramps, Braxton Hicks. Nothing. Sad that I might go overdue. I’m a first time mom and have heard we go overdue statistically. Can’t wait to meet my little man!

I was 4 days overdue and was showing no signs of labor all day. Come 10:00 that night I was having contractions that were every 4 minutes apart, so we got on our way to the hospital for a labor check. When they were checking me to see how far I was dilated they could feel fingers so Baby was trying to come out arms first and my dr diagnosed me with preeclampsia. We decided on a csection and when we were in the OR right before the dr pulls out our daughter she discovered that she was breech! We had no clue she was breech. But Baby is happy and healthy now 7 weeks old

I just had my first I was induced at 41 weeks was in labor for 3 days. It’s all worth it once you see the baby

My first, I was overdue by 6 days. I just had my second and he was born a week and s half early. You never know!! With my second? He felt so snug in my stomach - thought I was pregnant in the clear for another couple weeks. Did not expect for him to come early!

Yes, my second’s arrival was a surprise! Not when but HOW. It went super fast too. My birth story is in my profile. 
Best wishes and enjoy the time with your little one inside because, believe it or not, you will miss those precious jostles and kicks. And honestly, once baby comes, you’re basically chopped liver. Ha ha. Everyone just wants to see the baby, not the mama and her belly. 😉

I had my c section scheduled for 730am on December 5th.. my husband jokes around for weeks that he thought I would go in labour ahead of time. The night before around 830pm we were just sitting on the couch and my water broke, absolutely no signs leading up to that. I ended up getting my c section done at 1243am on December 5th instead!

I had an induction set and next morning went into labor with water breaking. Had no bh or anything just woke up and water broke.

3 days before my sweet girl was born (she was born on her due date) we had an appointment with our midwife. It was actually another midwife in the practice as ours was out of town. She checked baby’s position and said “you probably have a while to go! I’d say a couple weeks. She’s getting lower but not super low”. I wasn’t too disappointed because I’d expected to go late but I started having contraction 2 days later. They were random so I didn’t think anything of it until I woke up at 1am that morning with contractions I couldn’t sleep through. Took 4 baths between 1 and 4 am and didn’t get any sleep. We ended up going to our birth inn at 10 am and I was 5 cm and by noon I was at an 8. Baby girl was born at 4:21pm! Our midwife was shocked that a FTM delivered on time, she was sure the whole pregnancy that we would be late! So not a big surprise but it was a quick labor and on her due date :)
