Any foster/adoptive parents out there??

Question

Any tips of how to get this process started? I've been trying to look into it but not really finding much information.. We live in Georgia but I really just wanted to hear about everyone's different experiences with it. Do you/did you love it? Regret doing it? Any tips for anyone who's never done this before and has no children?

Hi! We fostered our 3 kids, 3, 6 and 7, and have since adopted them. We’re from Michigan now, but we’re in Ohio, it’s the same both states though. Just call the counties children services department and inquire and they’ll start you with everything you need to know. Everywhere does the order differently though. You don’t have to go out of the county you live in, we didn’t, I called around and based it on who was the friendliest and would we thought we’d want to work with. 
We love our kids, I wouldn’t tell anyone to do it though. I know that sounds horrible. Emotionally it was and is the most taxing thing we have ever done. And it’s no easier now that the adoption is fine and our family is officially whole. The struggles are different and the emotional issues are ever changing, but it’s so hard and most days we feel defeated. Our kids are siblings that’s why we have 3, and to be honest, with all of the “issues” these kind of kids can have, ours are on the much more moderate side and we struggle, all day everyday still. We don’t regret it and wouldn’t change it for anything, but would never do it again.

We actually started the process of becoming foster parents but decided to wait a few years. The first step is to take the classes and get certified. We just looked it up online every State is a little different.
