I’m going to be starting college next year. I plan on going to a school 2 hours away from my home. I’ll NEED a job in order to cover some expenses. How do people do this?

There’s tons of restaurants/stores around the area and I wouldn’t mind working at those. However, how can I work at a restaurant or store when I’ll have to go home 2 hours away for winter break and such?

There are jobs on campus but those are very few and mainly go to the people with more seniority. (upon checking the university website i found there are only two jobs open id be able to apply for)

I’m very worried and confused and honestly feel dumb for not knowing how these things work...
