So one of my close friends really likes me and i kinda sorta like him back it’s just I’m unsure whether I should date him or not. There’s a few issues:

1. He is one of my best friend’s ex boyfriends, but they ended it over a year ago now (she cheated on him with his best friend) and they’ve both had other relationships after that. However, she claims she still has feelings for him and always will because he was her first

2. We’ve had a two ‘flings’ previously but they didn’t work out so well. the first time he ditched me for my one of best friends (above), and the second time he ditched me for a younger girl. But those times before I knew he wasn’t sure about me and didn’t know if he liked me but now IM CERTAIN HE LIKES ME. - all his friends tell me how much he won’t shut up about me and that he gets really sad when I don’t reply blah blah blah -

3. He also acts completely different around me compared to when he is with his mates. He is one of those footy boys (so his mates are complete jerks) and tries to fit in around them and do stupid stuff to make them laugh. I know the guy he is around me is the real him, it’s just I CANNOT STAND the person he is with his friends. Like I would rather die than be with someone soooo stupid. He has told me that when we come back from break he will try to not let them influence him, but I think he’s just bullshitting.

4. Minor issue: I don’t really see him as that physically attractive anymore

So, I’m unsure whether I like him or I’m just holding onto the old me that used to be IN LOVE with this guy. I also don’t know whether it’s just me liking the constant affection and attention, and not actually him. Please help me because I don’t know what to do.
