my boyfriend and I have been dating for 6 years now (since we were 14) and still aren't engaged. we were each other's firsts with everything and I feel like, now, as adults, we should be taking our relationship to the next level. we've been living together for over a year now and I really thought that this year he would propose around or on our anniversary or Christmas, but nope - nothing. he says he thinks we're "going at a good pace" and says wants to get married but I want to move on from just dating. two or three years ago, he said he was looking at engagements rings and claims he still is but I don't know. I'm starting to think he doesn't want to get married. I just want to know how common it is to be dating this long without getting engaged.
