Hand preference????

Does anyone else’s little one show a hand preference. My baby uses her left hand more. She’ll use her right hand also but not as much. And she’ll chew on both. She just turned 3 months yesterday. Is this something to worry about? Just wanted to see if any other moms notice this?

At this age they will not usually show hand preference. they should be using both. hand dominance is not shown until at least age 4.

My daughter uses her left more and can hold rattles and toys much better on that side.

Couple days ago I watched a video from the youtube channel 'movementlesson'. Title of the video was '3 words that shouldn't describe your baby'. She mentioned that side preferences are not ok. Look the video up and I recommend their channel altogether.

My daughter is 19 mos old. She is just now starting to use her left hand most of the time. My son is 3 mos. he chews on his right. But babies brains can’t choose side preferences yet. Don’t overthink it.

My LO is showing preference for his left hand as well. I wouldn't worry, everyone is dominant in one hand over the other. I am left handed so I would love if he got that from me!
