Birth control?

Question

Looking at the different choices for birth control..  I cant take the pills as they had a very nasty side effect on me and I was taken off quickly.  I'm thinking about the shot but the thought of getting and IUD has crossed my mind many times.  What have you heard about either?  Or,  what are you on and would recommend??

don't get the shot I had really bad side effects from it like anemia and losing my hair not to mention not being able to control my emotions I was just like you and couldn't take the pill take my advice try the iud first.

Hi!! I take BC pills and the ones i use have a high and a low dose so you could always try a low dose of a pill because the side effects are less!! I have heard that IUD’s are incredibly painful and side effects are more severe so do your research if you go that route! Also, my bf’s sister has the implant and she is 16 and her and her mom said there have been no problems with it at all!!

I have been on 4 different birth controls over the last 12 years. I was on pills, but it’s hard for me to swallow them and I would always forget. I did the depo shot for a year and gained about 30 lbs, even though I didn’t change my diet. I also didn’t have my period for the whole year that I was on the depo shot. I did the implanon implant in my arm for two years and didn’t have my period at all for the first year and then for the last year it was all over the place. I would get my period for a full month, stop for a few months, etc. Three years ago I went on the birth control patch (xulane) and have loved it. I alternate putting it on each of my butt cheeks every week and then take it off for a week once a month to get my period. Works like a charm.
