When should I test?

Hi everyone. So my fiancé and I BD all during my ovulation window, which was last week and my period is supposed to be here next Thursday. I just stopped taking my birth control the first of May. I was wondering when would be the right time to take a hpt? I was planning on taking one next Saturday but I'm driving myself crazy thinking every little thing is an early symptom. When should I test and when should I expect to start feeling symptoms?

Wait a few more days to test. Your first several cycles after you stop birth control can be pretty crazy! Although I stayed pretty regular as far as cycle length and what not, my period symptoms changed a lot which always tricked me into thinking I was pregnant when I wasn't!

The day of your missed period. You'll get a definite answer and it's much less stressful. I tested about five days before my period was due and got a faint positive and was so happy... Then came the panic about my period actually showing up and having a chemical pregnancy. Every twinge and tiny cramp scared me to death. I wish I had waited until I missed my period, would have saved a lot of worry!

I recently just stopped by BC in March after being on it for about 10 years. My period was pretty close to my cycle from when I was on BC. I use ovulation kits to help pinpoint the day I ovulate. It's less stressful. And when it comes to your pregnancy test, usually waiting until the day you're supposed to start, or a couple days prior, is best. Good luck!! 😀
