Who do i talk to?

I am currently unemployed due the fact I have a background from 4yrs ago and it's hard to land a job. This also has put a hold on my education because I'm not sure which route to go since my background limits my choices. I have always wanted to start my own business and I know know What I want just don't know how to start. I want to choose this route because it's a passion of mine and I feel I can make a difference, also at least I wouldn't have to get turned down by employers Lol. I have a passion and love of molding our children because they are our future. Anyone know how I would get a start on this or mentor,or anyone in the Houston,Tx area who would love to help me get this started. Thanks
