No marriage proposal after 8 years!!! Am I being unreasonable????

My boyfriend and I have been together for more than 8 years and he hasnt proposed. We have a son together and I have a daughter from a previous relationship, he is an awesome dad to both. We talked about getting married but he wants to do a big proposal even though I told him I dont need that. He's not the romantic type and I know we arent really swimming in extra cash (he wants to propose with a ring) but it would be nice if he would ask sometime in the near future. I guess Im thinking he isnt completely ready cuz if he truly was he wouldve probably done it already

I feel like men once they have kids...proposing isn’t a priority. I’ve heard it before from them...they think that a child together is commitment enough. Have you talked about it with him?

I been with my SO for 12 years no ring no nothing lol we have a 5 year old together n trying for #2.. I gave up many many years ago lol I figure if I wasn’t so shy I’d just buy two bands n do it!! But I’m nervous n look I haven’t even asked in 12 years bahahahaha.

You should propose to him me and my husband were together for 3 years and he always said he would propose but he wanted to buy me a beautiful ring and do the whole nine yards but I'm not the waiting type so I proposed to him even though he told me he didn't want me to propose he wanted to do it. A month later we got married in Vegas. If I would have left it up to him who knows when it would have happened.

I was with my husband for 10 years before he proposed. Now we’ve been married for 1.5 years and are trying to conceive #1. 
We bought a house together 3 years ago. He told me that was more of a commitment than marriage 
Then I was grocery shopping and got hit on by random men several times. So I actually gave him an ultimatum. “You need to either start going grocery shopping with me or put a ring on it!”  Haha I guess it was easier to marry me  
(That story is true, but also not the only reason he proposed.  We had talked about it a lot actually, and about waiting until we both finished graduate school and could afford a decent wedding)
And my friend just got married on the day of her 10th anniversary of dating her significant other. So they were together about 9 years before he proposed. 
So I’d say talk to him about it. I think it’s okay to feel antsy and want to be engaged but its okay to wait too

If you already talk about getting married and have a child together, I guess the commitment is already there. I would tell him that you don't care if it's small, you just want to go straight into planning your big day!! I was with my OH for 6 years before he proposed (I wasn't expecting a proposal at all as we always spoke about planning our big day anyway). we were 21 during our engagement and married recently at age 26. Now TTC #1 😊

8 years is a long time!!!! I say you are a sweet, patient woman and he needs to see that. He needs to propose now. I started bugging my man after 4 years and to me that was long already. 
Having a baby and being romantically committed is not the same thing. You earned it and he shouldn’t make a big deal about it. Give it to you if he plans to spend the rest of his life with you and especially if it’s something his woman wants.

My cousins did that. It was annoying. My boyfriend already told me that he wouldn’t until after our daughter is born. He wants to spend a lot of $$$ on me for it...which I won’t complain but it doesn’t matter to me
