Was that mean of me?

I️f theirs not one thing I️ can’t stand, it’s rude people. Today my SIL woke up late for work ( we work together and carpool ) and she changed real quick and we left. When we were by the car she said “ drive “ , didn’t ask me but TOLD me. I️ guess she wanted to do her makeup... I’m sorry but my own mother doesn’t even talk to me like that. I️ simply said “ no “ and she just stayed quiet. I️ know she’s mad right now but it’s not hard to ask “ can you drive “ if she would of asked me I️ wouldn’t have had a problem doing so. Was that mean of me ? Lol part of me felt bad but she really shouldn’t be talking to anyone like that

I see where you are coming from, but I also see why she was snappy. She woke up late, she was probably in a bad mood and freaking out because she was late. But you are absolutely right, she should’ve asked more politely. 
I wouldn’t take it to heart babe, just tell her you got defensive because of the way she snapped at you.

I think u should put things in perspectiveZ
. Is she this way alot? How is yalls relationship? Do u feel she often oversteps her bounds? If so u need to address it in good tims when people arnt defensive. If she was just having an off day u should be more understanding. The same empathy and understanding u woild want in this situation.... give.

I know a lot people are saying that you should have been more understanding but if she was late then you too would have been running late which means that if she is allowed to be impatient over something that was her own fault then you are allowed to be impatient for her taking it out on you and being responsible for making you late. If anything she should have apologised for making you wait. We all have off days but at the end of the day it doesn't give someone the right to be rude to you. You set up a boundary for a behaviour that you didn't like right away which is good for your friendship. You shouldn't have to tread on egg shells around her because she is late and wants to put on make up- she should have been polite. If I ever snapped at my friends in frustration I would expect nothing less than for them to address it and the same vice versa. Don't worry too much about it, she'll get over it and it'll probably be like it never happened when you see her again. If she's allowed to snap in the heat of the moment then you are too and she'll realise that and hopefully won't be annoyed.

She woke up late and was running late so she was probably nervous or something. If she’s always like that then maybe it was alright but you shouldn’t be carpooling with her anyway if that’s the case. I also think that if your mother hasn’t spoken to you like that then (not trying to be mean) it makes sense how you went about the situation by saying “no” like that because that is just rude and you should have been spoken to like that before (by your mother & imo too so). Just be considerate to the fact that people have off days and the way you acted was rude if she’s not always like that, you should have gone with it and if she’s not normally like that then there’s no question about it. I’d personally ask if she was okay and not snap back like that but eh what’s done is done and I’m not telling you how to live your life lol
