When did you give birth?

First time mom and trying to decide what I need to do. Due June 1st but brothers graduation is May 19th. 
I don’t want to miss my brothers graduation because it’s a once in a life time event but I know driving/traveling 17 + hours while 38 weeks pregnant is risky itself.

I'm 37 weeks and 3 days and once we get home from spending time at our parents for christmas we are staying put at home til baby is here... our parents houses are only 45 minutes from the hospital. but I prefer to be at home where it's only 10 minutes away from the hospital.

No doctor is going to want you to travel at 38 weeks. I know it sucks, but you need to have someone just facetime you during the ceremony. I had my son at 38 weeks exactly and my labor and delivery was only 6 hours total. I was only 30 minutes from the hospital and I still almost had him in the car. It's just not worth risking.

I went on a 8 hour car trip at 38 weeks. My doctor approved it as my cervix was still high and no dilation. She made us take our file though.

Don't travel that far that close to your due date. Unless you have a PPO your insurance may not cover an out of state delivery. My job wanted me to go out of state at 37 weeks and I looked into it,  my insurance could reject the bill. Even with a ppo, the copay will be higher. Not worth it.

Have someone FaceTime the graduation for you. Traveling anywhere that long isn't the best for you that late in the game. My doctor said my cut off was 32 weeks and that was for a 3 hour flight.

I wouldn’t even travel 2 hours to see my parents after 37 weeks. If you’re low risk your doctor might tell you it’s okay, but I doubt it. I drove 8 hours when I was 28 weeks pregnant and I was miserable. I got so swollen and my back was so sore, I can’t even imagine driving 17+ hours. My son was 2 days early, and once I hit 38 weeks I honestly didn’t even want to leave the house to go grocery shopping (I did it, but it wasn’t fun). Your brother will understand. I had to skip my cousins wedding in Amsterdam when I was 31 weeks and she definitely understood.

Yeah I definitely wouldn’t do that. I went into labor 38 weeks 6 days, had her at 4 am so 39 weeks exactly.
