who has had ivf fail and then success

my friend has been through one ivf that ended in miscarriage and one that did not work. she does have thyroid disorder. but got eggs genetically tested.Dr wants to do egg retrieval again since there is only one egg left. anyone have any encouraging success stories after a failed ivf? or any advise on how to make ivf work better?? also advise to me on how I can help in this time ?

Hi. What a great friend you are. I think the best thing is to listen and let her talk and say how she’s feeling.  Be her sounding board for everything she’s going through. Tell her she’s doing great and keep being such a good friend. I have done ivf. 3 egg collections. 7 embryo transfers. We had one miscarriage on our third transfer and are now 9 weeks pregnant with a little one. There’s always hope, so keep encouraging her.

Add zinc to the next ivf cycle. I took 30mg zinc 1x / day 1 month prior and during my 2nd ivf cycle. I read that zinc helps the egg develop properly. I have hypothyroidism (112mcg synthroid). 1st cycle 3 blasts, and 3rd FET- missed miscarriage.
2nd ivf cycle— 11 blasts and 8 genetically normal and 3 abnormal. 1st FET from 2nd ivf worked— I’m 15 weeks pregnant. 
I use the analogy— a home run baseball player didn’t get that good just going up to the plate once. Infertility is the same— just keep stepping up to the plate and eventually you’ll have that home run. My doctor told me the only way I’d not have a baby is if I gave up.
