Do you use seatbelts/carseats?

I am seeing a lot of post about people not using car seats or seatbelts for various reasons. Just wondering how common this really is... Do you buckle up or nah? Why?

WHAT?!?!?! This is why you use car seats per manufacturer guidelines and seat belts...

We were rear end at highway speeds on Christmas day by a drunk driver and my babies didn't even have a scratch because of their car seats. We all would have died without our seat belts/car seats. It makes me sick to think someone would put their children's lives in danger.

I was in a bad car accident when pregnant with my first. I have permanent injuries that i have to deal with on a daily basis, all because of someone else. I am now that anal paranoid parent when it comes to seatbelts and carseats. Everytime someone else has my son in the car i give a run down on how his carseat is supposed to be. If i can install it myself i will. If not i tell them how tight it should be, where his chest clip should go and how tight the straps need to be. If they cant follow my rules, they dont get to take my child in the car with them without me being there.

I use both. Last year I was in an accident and was rear ended at 70 mph and then pushed into a spin and my back window blew inward all the while my 8 month old daughter was in the back seat. She had one minor scratch where the shoulder straps on her car seat was but was otherwise unharmed thankfully. Especially since she caught alot of the back window after it shattered. Don't risk your child's life.

I always buckle my kids up, but I am horrible about remembering my own seatbelt. Thankfully when we upgraded cars, we got a car that dings very annoyingly if I forget. So, now I don't make it out of the driveway without a reminder. 
I do not know what it is that makes me space out on my own safety, especially when I'm so careful to make sure the kids are safe, but technology is a huge help!

My children are ALWAYS in their seats and buckled in, CORRECTLY!
My 2 year old is still rear-facing and will be until she no longer fits..for her safety. My 3 year old is a giant and forward-facing, but will remain in her harnessed seat until she no longer fits at the amazing 90 pound mark..and yes, it is top tethered. I have done soo much car seat research, some of my family (that is twice my age) comes to me for help on what is "best" or "recommended" 🙂 I pride myself on my children's safety, and if I can help another child be safe as well, I will.
