Anyone else’s baby prefer you over Dad?

My LO is not shy about wanting Mommy over Daddy. I feel so bad for my husband. He is such a loving man and adores her but she fusses so much when he has her. Right now I’m trying everything I can to help them bond more. Just wondering if anyone else notices this with their babies.

How old is your baby?? My girl is 5 months old and cries when she can't see me for the most part. And she cries when dad is holding her and she sees me and realizes that I'm not the one holding her! lol my husband is confident in his fatherhood-ness and doesn't take it personally but I really wish she would hang out with him without giving him a hard time... mama needs a break and I can't stand to hear her cry! He always tells me she's fine and not to worry but I feel like SHE NEEDS ME! Paranoia I guess. Or instinct bahaha

The only time my son wants me over my husband is if he is tired or not feeling good. Literally the only time...

Our second is very attached to me. But she’s with me 24/7. My poor husband tries so hard but she’ll whine at me the second I walk in the room.

Another question: if your babe is really fussing/ crying with your spouse even though she’s been changed / fed do you go to her rescue or let dad help her? I am trying so hard not to intervene but sometimes her crying just pulls me to her and it’s impossible for me to think about anything but helping her. What do you do? Let them sort it out or swoop in?

My daughter switches. Lately it has been me, to the point where it's exhausting, and especially at bedtime. She goes through phases of prefering my husband though.

From what I have learn in my psychology classes it is very normal for a child/baby to prefer their same sex parent.  So if you have a boy he will like dad more and if you have a girl she will like mom more.  For us this is true. My son wants dad more than mom.  I’m a sahm so I’m the one there all day but when dads home that who he wants. I have a friend the has a girl and her lo wants her all the time.
