Husband has high fever and won’t listen to me
I posted a couple days ago that my husband had a fever of 102.65 and that he had been throwing up the night before. I was able to get him to take NyQuil for flu and fever reducers as well as get him to drink SOME water and Gatorade. The next day he seemed fine, I didn’t take his temp but he was able to eat some fruit through the day and sleep. The end of the day I took his temp and it was 101.17 so I just had him take NyQuil. The next morning (today) he took a shower while I was asleep and after he got out of the shower he ended up fainting and falling back into the tub and he was down for a good 10 minutes at least (the tub takes FOREVER to drain, at least 30 minutes, and when he woke up it was all drained).
I took his temp and it was around 101. He was able to drink a little water and eat some soup but tonight he was even hotter and lethargic, he didn’t even want to get out of bed or have his covers removed. So I took his temp and it was back up to 102.67. I called my mom who is very VERY against doctors and only believes in natural medicine and she told me I should take him to urgent care. Sadly everything is closed so she said take him to ER but I know ER’s are for emergencies only, but I am so worried hes going to get worse over night. He’s refusing to drink ANYTHING. He called his father and his father says hes fine and how he (the father) has had a fever of 106 and didn’t go to the doctor. Then I got blamed for not taking care of him 🙄
My husband WILL NOT listen to me, keeps yelling at me, blaming me and getting mad at me for “not taking care of him”. Ugh. Idk what to do, I don’t even want to sleep with him tonight because he had made me feel like trash these last couple days and I understand he has a fever and feels horrible but it’s not like he’s listening to me or letting me help him 🤷🏼♀️
update: I forgot to mention he’s on his fathers insurance (we just got married) and his father has really good insurance through his work. His father doesn’t think an ER visit is worth it for a “little fever” even though all we pay out of pocket is $100. At this point I have no say unless I find him unconscious in the middle of the night 🤷🏼♀️
