PCOS & ovulation?

I was told by a recent OBGYN that in order for me to try & achieve regular ovulation, as I don’t ovulate almost at all, I should take birth control. My body has never agreed with birth control pills & im against inserts of the vagina or other areas such as the arm. There’s a whole cluster of information, but the keep the story short, BC & my body do not work well together. Never been a fan. Are there other ways I can achieve ovulation? What did you do? How did it work? Etc.
