I am 35 wks and 3 days, contractions have been getting closer and longer for about 2 hours now, but I only feel pain in my back. Changing positions hasn't helped. Is this it? I hate to go to L&D for them to send us home.

Better safe than sorry. I'd go and get checked out. A few days ago this happened to me-- I contracted every 7-9 minutes for almost five hours. I went to L&D and ended up being sent home. I was told it's always better to come in and be checked and monitored when contractions are consistent and painful.

How long and how close? Are they consistent on distance? Drink water also and see if that helps. If they are consistent in length and distance apart and water isn't helping, then I would say call L&D but I would go in. Better to be safe then not know or it get worst.
