Shopping for sperm?!?!

My wife and I are at the point of needing to shop for sperm. Ignoring the fact that it feels bizarre shopping for sperm, I feel totally at a loss for how to select which sperm to go with. Obviously we want to find someone who looks somewhat like my wife (I’m carrying) and we have some specifics from the doc, but beyond that does anyone have pointers on how to select sperm from a sperm bank? How did you choose?

I think the hardest part is picking the place to get your sperm. There are banks and specialized sites and some people even try craigslist. My wife and I went the sperm bank route. The bank that we used had options not only for race but ethnicity, as well as height and interests and atuff. Since I'm carrying we looked for a  white donor with an Italian and German ethnic background, under 6 ft, who enjoyed sports (I doubt that last characteristic transfers to a fetus but it was fun to have criteria). That narrowed the options down to 2 😂. Then we picked the one with the head shape closest to my wife, and we had our donor! This is such an exciting time! Best of luck!

We narrowed down by hair and eye color first, then we went by occupation and interests. The banks provide a lot of information. Enough that you can get a decent picture of who they are. I like the paragraphs they right to the future child giving advice or to those using their sperm too.

I bought three different donors. The first donor I ended up running out of and decided to switch banks. 
Second one got lost in the mail, so I figured it was a sign lol. 
Third brought me my son. 
Most important factor was health. Then I didn’t want anyone with a Jewish background because I have a High percentage of ashkenazi ancestors and I didn’t want to risk any problems. Then I did it by looks. 
The bank is also super important. I really wanted a known donor. Someone my son could meet if he wanted to at the age of 18. I recommend Seattle sperm bank for price and customer service.
