Ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage?

I went in to the clinic with some light spotting to just check things out, I thought I was 6 weeks 3 days, they didn’t see anything on the ultrasound or transvag ultra sound but did see an enlarged ovary about 3cm. My initial Hcg level is 208, the doctor said most likely a miscarriage (although I haven’t had a ton of bleeding and zero pain) or possibly an ectopic, very very unlikely a viable pregnancy. Will repeat the hcg after 48 hours. Anyone have any type of experience like this?
