Flange Size?

Question

pumping has gotten so painful again.  Not sure if it’s thrush or flange size.  I dread turning on the pump.  In between pumping sometimes I get the sharp pain in or around my nipples, but I’ve heard it can be thrush or milk coming in.  My 2 week postpartum doc appt isn’t until Tuesday.  Does this size look ok?  Too big?  Thoughts?

I'm not an expert but I think your flange is too big. I started with 24mm (standard size) and it looked just like yours. Within a couple weeks I would have to bite down on something every time I pumped, it was rubbing my areolas RAW. I could barely shower because the water hitting my nipples hurt too bad. Everyone told me it was normal because I needed to build up callus. Eventually I broke down during a 2am pump session where I was just crying from pain and ready to give up, and ordered 21mm flanges. No more pain! I don't dread pumping! There's a measuring tool on the maymom website that helps determine flange size - have you used it?
