I was 6 weeks 2 days pregnant this morning. I had a tiny bit of brown spotting, no pain. But something in me knew something wasn’t right. So I went to the ER. My pregnancy was ectopic, and I had severe internal hemorrhaging. I was hours from dying and had no idea. I was rushed into surgery to remove my baby, where the doctor discovered that I was born with only half of a uterus. After 20 long months trying for this sweet baby, it all ended because my body never developed right. While I’m happy to be alive, I am so sad for the little life that I loved already. Please listen to your bodies. Don’t ever think you are over reacting. If triage wants to take blood, say you’re pregnant and send you away, be persistent. We lost our little one, but in the grand scheme of things, my husband was close to losing his wife, my family close to losing their daughter.
