He’s become extremely clingy since we started dating

When we were just talking and hanging out he was great, but it changed when we actually started dating. If I don’t text him after two minutes I get flooded with text messages, I’ve had to cut off contact with one guy friend because he was getting so insecure when we weren’t doing anything, and if I’m going somewhere with my girlfriends he always wants to come. I’m home from school and during the holidays I wanted to spend more time with my family. He got so upset because I didn’t come over his house to be with his family even though I told him my family who I haven’t seen was coming to town. He was still acting like a pissy baby so I kinda snapped on him and to make him happy I went over to wish his family a merry Christmas. He could see I was stressed and he did apologize for how he was acting, but sometimes he still acts like that. I do love him and care for him I just don’t know what to do or how to talk about his clinginess
