New Here! Need some advice!

My husband and I have recently started fertility treatments due to low sperm count and motility. I do not have any fertility issues. Normally his counts are around 15mil with 43% motility. We did IUI #1 unmedicated in November and it failed. We went in for IUI #2 12/26 which was a medicated cycle with Clomid to see if we could increase our chances. They ended up canceling our IUI due to my husbands sample which contained 300mil sperm but none were motile. We were so confused how it went from 15mil and 43% motility to now a huge 300 mil but none motile. Side note my husbands had 2 semen analysis’s since August and both had low count and motility but the second one actually had increased numbers for both areas which we were happy about. We now have a consultation with our fertility doc 1/24. I wasn’t very happy about it being scheduled so far out but that’s the earliest available. Has anyone ever dealt with this? I’m wondering if I should ask to do another medicated cycle and about a week before do another semen analysis to see the counts. If they are back to their usual do the IUI and if not then cancel and wait for our appointment. I just really don’t want to miss another cycle just because. I’m also afraid he will say we need to move on to IVF. Our insurance doesn’t cover any fertility treatments so we would be paying out of pocket. How do people do it? What do you all think or what would you do? It’s getting very depressing having such a let down each month.
