High temperatures!

I'm currently pregnant found out Christmas eve so haven't being able to see a dr till tomorrow so don't know how far along I am would say about 4 weeks. I just got tonsillitis 2 days ago, whole body aches, fever, really sore throat and when I swallow it hurts but so does mt left ear. Anyway my concern is when I had a temp of 38.8 around normal I felt absolutely freezing and had goosebumps. I took really hot baths and I dressed really warm. It was 34 degrees outside and I'm in bed with blankets on, I've just found out (google) that my baby could have birth defects because of this I'm so scared now! Chance of a neural tube defect and possibly cleft palette!?? Does anyone know if there is Truth to this
