Abnormal uterine bleeding

So lately my periods have been heavy coming every two weeks lasting 5 days. I received my last period a little over a week ago, started the patch 4 days ago to try and regulate it, but I’m going on 9 days of bleeding and I’m still loosing clots. It takes a couple hours to fill a pad yet so that’s not absolutely terrrrible, but just wondering if it’ll start weaning off soon?? Like if it would still take time for my body to get used to the patch before it stops my bleeding
